The Consumer Business organization is an exciting, fast-paced organization seeking to reinvent consumer printing by offering consumers solutions to move from printing to content consumption. We are developing world-first solutions in Ink Subscription, making it easier for customers to always print. We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Web & Database Development Engineer to join us in pursuing this exciting opportunity for HP, within our dynamic R&D Lab.
An experienced engineer with strong system experience in firmware or software. To work on a team deploying web services within the HP Connected framework. Able to architect and create great Ink Subscription solutions.
2 years software development experience
Bachelor's (undergraduate), Master's (graduate), or Ph.D. (post graduate) degree in Computer Science or equivalent from an accredited institution
Excellent communication skills
System Engineering experience
Extensive debugging experience
Familiarity with Web languages, protocols and tools (with Model-View-Controller)
Experience in Object Oriented design
Experience working with cross-functional teams. Experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Experience in translating from requirements into design, from design into subsystems.
Result oriented and schedule driven
Good written and interpersonal communication skills.
Understanding of Agile methodologies
Proven ability to lead
Database skills (MySQL)
Familiarity with Linux command line
Ability to analyze the performance and scalability of complex systems
Test-Driven-Development, Unit Test, RSpec
Experience using GIT version control
Database querying and design
Pair Programming/ XP development
Ability to work with fast changing requirements, vague requirements
