At Amazon.com data and analysis guide every business decision and deliver enormous business value. Amazon's Business Intelligence team (part of the eCommerce Engine (ECP) Team) is responsible for a business analytics platform that provides reporting, analysis, and data mining, to thousands of internal and external customers worldwide. The BI team is recruiting for a Technical Program Manager to help deliver the next generation of Amazon.com 's business analysis solution.

We are looking for candidates with great communication and customer relationship skills who are adept at solving problems that span business and technology. You have outstanding customer insight and are a passionate advocate for your customers to all internal parties. You know and are excited by cutting edge IT technologies; your technical skills are rock solid and you drive towards simple solutions to complex problems. You have excellent project-management skills, and your previous experience includes responsibility for managing technology projects.

You need to be able to plan and coordinate complex discussions between our team, our dependencies, and our customers. You bring a refined set of soft skills when presenting our message. You are not afraid of a technical discussion. Your strong project management skills will be utilized to help deliver critical projects that meet various business and legal requirements.


Basic Qualifications

Successful candidates for this individual contributor position will have a technical background, be passionate about their work, detail oriented and have excellent problem solving abilities. Specific job qualifications include:

An undergraduate degree in computer science, math, physics or related field is required. Results oriented person with a delivery focus. Excellent technical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with reporting tools and data modeling. Detail oriented and strong organization skills. Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams. Ability to manage projects across multiple teams. 5+ years work experience desired

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent SQL skills. Demonstrated ability to work well in ambiguous situations. Prior experience as SDE (Software development engineer). Advanced degree is nice to have.
