Work on one or more Automated Test Equipment (ATE) platforms like LTXC Sapphire, Verigy 93K, and Advantest T2K. Write code that enables AMD to test Fusion devices at competitive value points. Debug test infrastructure issues including test HW, test SW, device-specific IP, and integrated test flow.Engineer must ensure overall compatibility, compliance, and test coverage of microprocessors from product definition through product qualification and into high volume production by developing product specific test hardware, software and diagnostics. The ATE test platforms and test infrastructure use various coding and scripting languages like Java, C++, C, Python, PERL, and Ruby to manipulate the device under test to ensure proper device functionality.Potential roles of a Product Development Engineer 1 include: 1. Development and implementation of test programs on ATE to test and analyze AMD Fusion products in a high-volume manufacturing environment.2. Develops test requirements, specifications, ATE patterns/vectors, and ATE timing. 3. Performs logic and circuit design verification via software and hardware. 4. Works with product engineering, characterization and platform debug teams to define and debug existing and new microprocessor products.5. Debugs test infrastructure issues in hardware, software, device, or manufacturing flow domains.6. Support product improvement activities including driving cost reduction and yield improvement initiatives and resolving quality issues.Qualifications: Years of experience: Preferred candidates will have graduated with a college degree within the last 12 months of start date.Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.Required Skills:1. Experience with C++ or other high level software programming languages (Java, C, C#)2. Familiar with general Computer Architecture concepts (such as pipelining and caching), x86 architecture, PC computer organization3. Courses in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Digital Logic, Circuit Theory4. Familiar with Linux or Unix Operating Systems5.
