As a Server and Storage Expert, you will be responsible for working with Global IT teams to implement systems as well as maintaining, proactively managing and supporting systems such as SAN, NAS, Backup, VMware, Databases, Microsoft and Linux operating systems as well as other solutions that the business relies upon. The Server & Storage Expert will have experience working with leading hardware vendors including, Netapp, Dell, VMWare, Microsoft in the management and support of infrastructure systems supporting business critical applications. The Server & Storage Expert will have experience working on the associated technologies, including; - NetApp - FAS 2000/3000/6000 - OnTAP, SnapManager & Data Fabric Manager - SAN and Ethernet Networking - Data Domain, VTL & NetBackup - Vmware technologies: vcOps, VDI etc - Rack & Blade Server Technology - Linux/Unix/Windows - Malware Protection, Patch Management & Monitoring Provides senior level support for the day-to-day support, upgrade path, monitoring and on-going maintenance of Enterprise Wide Infrastructure - Servers & Storage. Working closely with management and colleagues to ensure that all phases of support, including installations, upgrades, software, hardware, operating systems and configuration issues are properly coordinated, monitored, tracked, resolved and managed under change management processes. Maintains Security and Compliance of IT systems including implementation and execution of DR/BCP work program tasks. Accountable for day-to-day progress against agreed deadlines, towards business objectives. Works on specific projects under direction from management and in conjunction with Technology Strategy. Provide guidance, mentoring, assistance and development to colleagues on cross training and technical development of staff. May be required to travel to other sites domestically and internationally. Must be quality orientated and ensure all work streams are aligned with company and IT compliance standards. Work cross-functionally as a key contributor to the overall success of a global dynamic IT function to effectively guide projects from concept to deployment. Manage the planning, development, design, validation and implementation of assigned projects, including scope, work breakdown, schedules, budget and delivery. Other duties as required. Essential Duties and Job Functions:
- Repairs, maintains and provides preventative maintenance for an area of the infrastructure. - Applies professional and advanced engineering concepts to develop an understanding of different situations that will guide thinking on ways to address/approach client situations. - Performs troubleshooting, choosing from among a large number of different procedures to find a solution. - Implements changes to one or more components of the infrastructure, executing tests and reporting on performance. - Participates on project teams, executing changes in their components (s) of the infrastructure as directed. - Maintains and updates existing documentation and standard operating procedures. - Monitors problem logs and records.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
- Possesses experience in implementing established solutions to support the effective operations of an element(s) of the infrastructure. - Developing technical expertise in one or more components of the infrastructure - Typical candidates will possess 4+ years of relevant experience and BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent experience or M.S. in a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience.
