Since 1994, Insitu has led in the design, development and production of small autonomous aircraft for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). We currently produce and sell an ever growing fleet of Unmanned Aircraft Systems that are low-cost, long-endurance, and have low personnel requirements. These UASs provide a no-runway launch, unprecedented stabilized day and night video for ISR, robotic flight control, and a no-nets capture.

As we continue our rapid growth in the UAS/UAV market we are looking for hungry talent to help us achieve our goal of maintaining the agile and innovative problem-solving capabilities in all the products we offer.

Knowledge - Skills & Abilities Required:

Required qualifications :
Desired qualifications

Solve challenging engineering problems and develop real-time safety critical embedded software in C/C++ for unmanned aircraft applications. Prototype and integrate software solutions on target hardware platforms; vet and debug prototype integration efforts; perform formal engineering evaluations, including trade studies and performance assessments, etc. Consult and support fellow electronic hardware engineers and other engineering staff in pursuit of delivery objectives. Required qualifications :
2+ years experience with compiled programming languages, C/C++ preferred Understanding of computing machinery (memory, secondary storage, I/O, FPGA, processor, data bus, etc.) as it relates to software. Strong problem-solving abilities, careful attention to detail, thorough yet practical, learn quickly, communicates effectively, and open to taking direction and adapting to course corrections. Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality results on time
Desired qualifications
Experience designing for resource constrained systems. Ideal candidate would have experience with JTAG debugging, FPGA programming and bootloaders. Professional or recreational experience with hobbyist robotics kits, remote control airplane modifications, or other microcontroller/assembly/firmware software development experience. Exposure to control theory, flight dynamics, software design patterns, data structures and algorithms, generic programming a plus. Experience with hands-on troubleshooting hardware and debugging software

Education:

B.S. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or other related Engineering degree. Previous internship or professional experience, significant school project experience, and/or relevant side project work are highly desirable.

Founded in 1994, Insitu, Inc. is a pioneer developer of long-range, unmanned, autonomous aircraft. To measure in situ means to measure in place, and is frequently used in environmental resource monitoring.
