Job Description

Our Associate Software Test Engineers focus on testing and quality assurance duties. They serve the critical function of ensuring outstanding quality of new products and releases.

Primary Responsibilities

Independent participant in a team that owns all testing in a functional product area

Execute functional tests using daily builds, weekly builds, and sprint builds on release candidates

Spot problem areas quickly and communicate with team leads and/or managers

Create software testing requirements and define test cases/plans

Design and implement test automation scripts

Report detailed software defects

Gather more information from customers, tech support or other internal resources


Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of software testing principles, methods, and processes

Good foundational knowledge of object-oriented design

Ability to accurately estimate task durations and meet schedules

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Good verbal/written communication skills

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Physics majors or graduation from Technical School required

Minimum 9 hours (3 courses) of actual programming course work

Completion of a minimum of three projects where programming languages are put to use to solve problems

6-12 months of software testing/QA experience preferred
