Job Description

Our Corporate Application Development Team is looking for an entry level Software Developer to join our growing application development team in Tacoma, WA which develops and maintains our business critical application that facilitates our ability to dispatch and pay our temporary workforce throughout the United States.

Self taught or formal education aside, as long as you can demonstrate your competence in C#, .NET 4+, Visual Studio 2010+ and the ability to learn, this position may be ideal for you. You will be mentored by a senior software developer and will also spend 50% of your time under the direction of our Performance Test Manager working with our Microsoft Test Manager Suite.

You will be joining a team of highly skilled software developers, and test engineers working in a Scrum, Agile software development environment. This position will report directly to the Director of Application Services.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Prepares system and programming documentation with the guidance of the Lead Software Developer or domain leader.

Under the direction of our Performance Test Manager, assist in creating automated test scripts using Microsoft Test Manager.

Understands and follows TBI design and development standards.

Works effectively in a team environment.

Demonstrates the ability to work with cross functional groups to achieve results.

Demonstrates appropriate communication skills and knows when to listen and when to talk.

Has a good understanding of SDLC and Scrum.

Is able to appropriately prioritize multiple tasks and take direction from our tech leads.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Programming Languages and Tools

Has patterns based development background with a good understanding of:

C#

.NET 4.0 or higher

ASP.NET including Web API and MVC 3 or higher

Visual Studio 2010 or higher

HTML5 for web applications, experience with CSS framework such as Twitter Bootstrap preferred

JavaScript with jQuery

Kendo UI or similar JavaScript controls (such as jQueryUI)

MVVM pattern using Kendo, Knockout, Angular or similar library

SQL

Enterprise Library

Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Web Services

nUnit or other unit testing platform

Requirements

Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent self taught work experience.

3+ years of related development experience.

Uses professional concepts; applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues and understand the TrueBlue SDLC/Scrum implementation.

Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways using the established SDLC/Scrum methodology.

Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives, as well as an understanding of the company culture.

Consults with and take direction from the Lead Software Developer when implementing strategic policies and selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Requires the ability to change the thinking of or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations while preserving the relationship.

Requires moderate instruction on day-to-day work, and receives only general instructions on repeated assignments.

Able to learn quickly and will make the effort to learn outside of normal business hours on techniques and concepts that are unfamiliar.
