Job Description

Under general direction of the Director of IT and with minimal technical oversight, the Analyst/Programmer provides software analysis, development and maintenance support on the CMS Oracle / PeopleSoft ERP Campus Solutions application for the Admissions and Records Office (admissions, evaluations, records, registration, and graduation unit) covering Student Admissions, Student Records and Campus Community modules. Develops and supports new software to address various requirements of CSUF and the Chancellor's Office. Consults with users to identify and document software purpose, work flow, output needs and to determine overall function and technical system requirements. Develops program specifications and reviews them with the user to ensure that requirements are met. Develops, installs, manages and tests new software applications and modifications including diagnostics and problem resolution for all issues including the most complex. Other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, from an accredited university or a related technical field with relevant experience totaling three years full-time or equivalent part-time. Knowledge of standard applications programming languages and knowledge of standard systems analysis techniques. Excellent analytical skills in order to resolve critical problems and provide appropriate solutions for new and existing projects. Ability to write/modify programs using multiple applications and databases; ability to analyze problems and propose effective solutions; understand functional and procedural requirements; relate solutions to management, technical staff, and users; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Experience and knowledge of Oracle database, SQL, SQL Developer, SQR, PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Application Designer, Application Engine, Query, and Query manager. Proficiency using common office software such as (but not limited to) Microsoft Office and web browsers. Knowledge in concepts of scheduling computer batch jobs in a production environment. Ability to work independently and possess the experience to be fully proficient in performing most or all of the work assignments mentioned above.
