Develop and apply a structured business intelligence architecture approach and methodology that aligns with the key strategies of the organization.
Architect and design MicroStrategy layer for implementation of BI solution.
Define, implement and refine the BI solution development methodology based in industry best practices.
Develop technology specifications and ensure that any new technology solutions are designed for optimal access and us efulness, and leverage existing technologies when possible.
Apply architectural and engineering concepts to design a solution that meets operational requirements, such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability, and manageability.
Identify the technologies to employ based on price, performance, service agreements, and organization constraints.
Provide guidance, background information, and assistance to operations management and other staff on the interpretation and effective us e of business intelligence.
Lead and contribute to strategic efforts that align business intelligence with the goals of the organization.
Effectively supervise and mentor MicroStrategy Developers.
Define and implement the training program for developers to upgrade their technical skills to bring them in-line with the BI strategy.
Participate and lead research and development efforts (proofs of concept, prototypes), as subject matter experts, when introducing new technologies.
Ensures technology solutions are production ready and meet the defined specifications; and that the solution can be maintained via production support methodologies and resources.

Reporting to the Director of BPM and Analytics, the Business Intelligence (BI) Architect is responsible for the successful delivery of business intelligence information to the entire organization and is experienced in BI development and implementations, data architecture, ETL layers, performance tuning and data delivery and interpretation. Emphasizing effective collaboration with key stakeholders, the BI Architect is responsible for the assessment of business requirements, collection and identification of technical specifications, and the subsequent development of technology solutions that require development to be viable. The Architect works to develop an integrated view of the BI team us ing a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and industry standards with an emphasis on MicroStrategy as a core development tool.
The BI Architect has deep theoretical and practical knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities specific to data warehousing, methodologies such as those of Kimbal, Inmon, and software tools.
The BI Architect is expected to apply independent judgment and initiative in carrying out assigned tasks and will have supervisory responsibility to coach and mentor a team of MicroStrategy Developers. In addition, the BI Architect works with other staff at every level of the organization soliciting strategic imperatives from senior leaders and executives, and supporting business unit managers as they leverage business intelligence to run their operations.
The position is expected to travel up to 30% of their time.
The ideal candidate will possess the following minimum educational and experience requirements:
Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in a technology related field, e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Management Information Sciences or Operations Research.
5+ years of MicroStrategy development experience with 2+ years of experience in a lead technical or architect role.
5+ years of experience in BI processes and tools such as data mining, OLAP, ETL, Master Data Management, Data Organization (star, snow flake schema etc.), database organization (partitioning), expert in data modeling and performance tuning.
2+ years of management experience.
Prior experience designing BI solutions, preferably in the healthcare industry.
Proven track record of successfully delivering BI and/or data warehousing projects.
Strong relationship management skills, able to be effective at all organizational levels; us ers, team members and management.
Flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks.
The ability to apply architectural principles to business solutions.
A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business, and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy; processes and capabilities; enabling technologies; and governance.
Extensive experience planning and deploying either business or IT initiatives (preference for both).
Exceptional communication skills and the demonstrable ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualization's.
