Job Duties The Informatics group at the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center at UCLA is a very small group tasked with a variety of jobs including customization of our vendor-purchased Clinical Trials Management System, custom development of software to support various research and/or administrative needs, as well as provision of business intelligence reports based on the data residing in these various systems. For our future projects (next on-tap: data repository to support UCLA's participation in the ATHENA Breast Health Network (http://athenacarenetwork.org/), as well as a custom application to replace the outdated one in use at the Simms/Mann UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology), my goal is for our small group to become an AGILE team. We are looking for a Computer Science (or related field) graduate student or (highly qualified under graduate) to come and join us; an MBA student with an IT focus could work as well. Though roles on such teams are often loosely defined and responsibilities might fluctuate from project to project, especially given the size of our team, the successful candidate will primarily serve as a business analyst/QA lead. We are looking for a smart, motivated, team player who is eager to make a substantial impact on our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with both gathering requirements and ensuring quality outcomes through previous work experience, side projects or school projects. If you have worked in an AGILE environment before, then that would be a bonus, though it is certainly not a requirement since we will all be learning this process together. This is a 49% part-time 6 months limited position.
