Job Description

Position Description

The F/A-18 program in Saint Louis, MO is seeking an entry level / early career Systems Integration & Test Engineer to support avionics hardware/software integration activities related to the incorporation of new and improved war-fighting capabilities integrated into the F/A-18 weapon system. This position includes supporting many development activities including but not limited to: Supporting trade studies and engineering analysis efforts focused on integration of new capabilities; System operational concept and architectural design; Developing and evaluating system/subsystem requirements; Designing/modifying Crew Vehicle Interface (CVI) cockpit controls & displays; Development of interface control documents (ICDs); Supporting test planning activities; Conducting hands-on system integration testing; Support of customer flight testing; Supporting statement of requirement (SOR) teams; Customer coordination; and Support of system design reviews. Position will include a 12 month temporary domestic assignment at the Naval Air Warfare Center - China Lake, CA for hands-on experience working with F/A-18 Flight Test Engineers, Aircrew, Integrators, and Maintainers.

Moderate proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Previous design or project team participation and leadership is highly desired.

Typical Education/Experience

Level 1 - Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 2 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience.
