Job Description:
The Systems Verification Center (SVC) is responsible for systems verification engineering activities supporting Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) programs in the Southern California area. The primary business areas supported include Air Combat Avionics, Advanced Concepts and Technology, Integrated Airborne Systems, Integrated Technology Programs, Precision Attack and Surveillance, and Strategic Systems.
The SVC provides services and expertise for the systems integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) of Radar, RF, and Electro-Optical (EO) sensors. This includes Test Architecture Development, Test Equipment Requirements, Mission Systems Integration (MSI), Mission Planning and Operations, Integration and Test (I&T), Flight Test, and Post Delivery Support. SVC prides itself on its ability to support the full breadth of systems IV&V engineering needs for space, airborne, ground, and naval applications. SVC also supplies leadership and engineering expertise to a variety of internal research and development, process development, production support, and new business pursuits.
Our core competencies include systems engineering, mission planning, test architecture, mission systems integration, test requirements management, test verticality, and sensor test data reduction. An entry-level engineer will typically assist a more senior engineer by performing trade-off analyses and keeping track of performance budgets in order to produce a design which balances performance, cost and risk.
Responsibilities:
Most common assignments are in the areas of software and hardware
integration.
New hire may be assigned to any systems engineering function.
Typical new hire assignment would be to assist in the definition of software and hardware requirements for a new STE system.
The systems engineer evaluates the possible combinations of hardware and software specifications which will enable the test system to meet the customer performance goals and overall requirements.
Based upon knowledge of the technical challenges involved in meeting the test unit specifications, he or she will recommend a design approach and a set of specifications.

Required Skills:

Strong willingness to learn and succeed in a fast, dynamic environment.

Experience with Digital logic and FPGA programming. Schematic literate. Familiar with OrCAD/AutoCAD/Mentor Graphics.

Experience with C/C++

Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Oral and written communication skills

Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance .

Desired Skills:

Experience in systems software integration or verification, hardware integration, test requirements management, test verticality

Minimum of 3.0 GPA overall preferred

Required Education (including major):

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering or related technical discipline by August 2013 or within previous 18 months
