Perform as a member of a team developing a consistent path forward for technical risk assessment of BME (Base Metal Electrode) capacitors for space hardware applications. The team will develop guidance and screening criteria that can be leveraged and tailored by programs. The need for such guidance is urgent, given the rapid pace at which programs and contractors are adopting the use of BME capacitors. The overall effort will include a survey of the literature and program experience; development and execution of a test plan; analysis of the data; development of appropriate models and a FIT (Failure In Time) rate calculator for use in risk, reliability and mission assurance assessments; and executing a suite of physical deconstruction and analyses. The successful candidate will support team members as they generate and communicate technical results.
