Job Description

In order to drive our next phase of growth in location technologies, we are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our position location software integration and commercialization team.

The position location subsystem is a central component of Qualcomm's overall chipset software solution. Software engineers on this team are responsible for integration and delivery of Qualcomm's position location software components as a cohesive software subsystem to internal chipset target product teams and then to mobile phone OEMS. Responsibilities include integration, generation of builds, validation of builds on target, management of target branches, troubleshooting across a wide range of interdependent technology areas. The work involves close coordination with members of many different software and test engineering teams. Experience with product development in any of the following areas is highly desirable: - GPS / GNSS / other position location technologies, CDMA2000, W-CDMA, TD-SCDMA or LTE OFDMA air interface technologies Familiarity or experience in any of the following areas is also desirable: - Perforce software configuration management system - ARM processor architecture, instruction set, and development tools - WindowsMobile, Linux, Android application environments Perl, Python, Visual C++ - Fundamentals of mobile communication systems - Digital communication theory and digital circuit design - Commercial cellular air interface test equipment usage
Candidates are expected to have strong practical knowledge in the following subject areas: - C/C++ programming - Real time operating systems - Multi-threaded embedded systems. Candidates are expected to have a high degree of proficiency in the following skill areas: - Software architecture and design - Verbal and written communication - Critical thinking and problem solving - Ability to learn new skills and concepts. The following personal qualities are also important to be successful in the QCT engineering organization: - Positive results oriented attitude - Personal initiative and integrity - Competent technical judgment - Ability to work as a member of a team.
