Day to Day Work

This position will provide on-call and backup support for existing systems at BPA facilities on or off-site and will be required to carry a BPA supplied cell phone/pager and work non-core hours when requested.

Position Overview:
This position is located in the Agency Commercial Systems organization within the IT department. This position is for a Software Programmer Level II to develop and support BPA's commercial applications. The candidate must be a self-motivated, team player with strong interpersonal communication skills and able to interface with the customers to understand their processes and requirements and be able to translate a set of requirements into computer source code using the software tools provided on a Windows platform.

Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and support BPA's commercial applications.
- Interface with the customers to understand their processes and requirements and be able to translate a set of requirements into computer source code using the software tools provided on a Windows platform.
- Produce technical documentation and articulate technical information with both functional and technical team members to facilitate knowledge transfer.
- Function as a team member in performing project application design and development tasks.
- Perform analysis, design, development, and testing project tasks, and analysis and resolution of maintenance issues.

Position Requirements:
- 5+ years experience - Computer Technology
- Undergraduate, Graduate or Post-Graduate College Degree - Computer Technology or related field
- Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) is preferred
- 3+ years of demonstrated applications design & development experience with at least 5 years in ASP .NET programming using Microsoft Visual C#, and Microsoft SQL Server (2005 or greater) or Oracle (9i or greater).
- Experience with Visual Studio (2008 or greater) and Microsoft Team Foundation Services.
- Experience performing analysis, design, development, and testing project tasks, and analysis and resolution of maintenance issues.
- Experience in usability standards and guidelines, development of business logic, and data access layers using C#, ASP .NET, JavaScript and SQL server programming.
- Possess written communication skills sufficient to produce technical documentation and oral communication skills sufficient to perform knowledge transfer to other programmers, analysts, and users.
