This opening is for a motivated entry-level engineer who wants to develop their FPGA design skills implementing high performance communications applications.

Selected individual(s) will design, build and maintain advanced high capacity systems that process modern high speed telecommunications signals for the US intelligence community. The department you will work for is responsible for the core signal processing elements of these systems, including:
Equalization and demodulation of complex waveforms
Analyses and processing of modern telecommunications structures
Advanced survey and filtering software Our technologies include:
Design and manufacture of special purpose state-of-the-art hardware
FPGA-based high speed processing algorithms
Powerful reusable software libraries running on processors from embedded cores to bladed general-purpose computers Position will successfully develop and implement relatively simple FPGA signal processing capabilities, with some level of supervision from a more experienced engineer. They may also work as part of a team on more complex development efforts. Some specific examples of work include:
1. With supervision, develop and document detailed FPGA designs
2. Implement FPGA designs in VHDL and simulate their performance
3. Support FPGA integration and test
Familiarity with FPGA design tools, development environments and languages (VHDL and/or Verilog)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to obtain a Top Secret - Sensitive Compartmented Information Clearance
Experience using ModelSim, Precision/Synplify, Xilinx ISE, or FPGA-embedded processors
Understanding of DSP and/or network protocols such as TCP/IP and ATM
Hands-on lab skills using common test equipment
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university majoring in Electrical Engineering or related graduating Spring 2013 or within the last 18 months prior to start date.
