Job Description:
The Electrical Subsystems Directorate (ESD) - RF Center - RF Subsystems Department is currently searching for an entry level Electrical Engineer to join the Air Warfare Systems (AWS) section who has interest in becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) Guidance Section (GS) within a missile simulation Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test facility with responsibilities for the Unit Under Test (UUT). This position will participate as an Individual Contributor within the AWS Section in supporting program activities as a technical contributor and future GS SME for the AMRAAM program related to the missile test assets located in the facility. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Member of a team which is responsible for missile guidance section hardware under test and associated support equipment, as well as day to day test direction of RF simulations performed in the facility.

Involved in decisions relating to evaluating the current state of simulation support equipment.

Assist in identifying streamlined methods of performing tests, as well as identifying upgrades to equipment to increase facility stability and efficiency.

Support of software development teams evaluating software builds against various flight scenarios, as well as conduct of Formal Qualification Tests (FQTs) for software implementation associated with production and OT support.

The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of RF applications and RADAR theory of operations. Familiarity with computers and computer controlled test equipment is preferred. Must have good communication skills and be able to work in a dynamic team oriented environment. Ideal candidate will be process oriented and understand configuration management principles.
Required Skills:

Bachelor's degree with RF electronics experience in industry or educational course work (e.g. Antenna Theory, Design Engineering and/or Microwave Engineering) with strong technical background.

Familiarity with Radar Basic Concepts, HW/SW Integration & Test Process and Procedures.

Strong problem solving skills with ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges.

Ability to prepare test related documentation with minimal oversight.
Desired Skills:

Strong technical and interpersonal skills with a desire to support enterprise initiatives.

Experience in missile simulation.

Familiarity with UNIX, RADAR theory and TM analysis techniques.

Knowledge of tactical missile hardware and software.

Computer experience associated with the operation and modification of automated test equipment software.

Experience with Automated Test Station Operation, RF seeker operation or Missile simulations and tactical missile design.
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor's of Science degree required.

Major(s): Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, SW Engineering, or other related technical disciplines from an ABET Accredited institution. Minimum GPA of 3.0.
