Job Description

Junior Electro-Optical Test Engineer (Job Number:315793) Description: SAIC's Advanced Modeling & Simulation, Analysis & Research (MSAR) Division is seeking a Junior Electro-Optical Test Engineer for its Beavercreek, Ohio location. Successful candidate will join a growing, high-performance team in a well-equipped laboratory performing applied research and development in electro-optical technology. Will work with senior staff to set up, align, characterize and calibrate EO test equipment, sensors and testbeds. Will operate instrumentation control hardware and software and data acquisition hardware and software. Will participate in development of test plans & procedures, data collection, data reduction, data analysis, data management, test documentation, and writing technical reports. Will be mentored by senior staff. The EO Test Engineer will use software such as Labview and MATLAB for data acquisition, and MATLAB, MathCAD, and Excel for data analysis. Testing is primarily laboratory-based, with some field testing possible. The ideal candidate will quickly learn to operate new hardware and software, learn new skills, and work independently as well as with a team. Must also demonstrate excellent problem solving skills, must be meticulous, organized, careful, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with a can-do attitude. Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree in electro-optics, electrical engineering or equivalent related field or job experience, and 2 to 4 years of professional experience. -The candidate must have the ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance without complicating circumstances. -The candidate must have experience working in an electro-optics lab environment, with the ability to set up experiments, align equipment and collect data. -The candidate must have a theoretical understanding of electro-optics, lasers, and radiometry. - Must have excellent computer skills, preferably with experience using MATLAB, Labview and similar tools. - Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications -An active DOD Secret Security Clearance is preferred, and Top Secret Security Clearance is strongly preferred. - two to four years of professional experience with the following is desired: operating electro-optical equipment such as sources, detectors, sensors, lasers, characterization equipment; collecting, analyzing, interpreting data; performing computer-based data acquisition and analysis.
