Job Description

Candidate must possess software engineering and software development skills with strong Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL and Adobe Cold Fusion experience. The candidate will have experience and knowledge of basic software practices such as coding standards and configuration management. Strong debugging, coding, and analytical problem solving skills are required. Candidate's must be self-motivated, organized, have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, possess an ability to solve technical problems requiring attention to detail, have demonstrated leadership, and have both collaborative and independent work process exposure. Desired skills Candidate should have the desire and ability to learn new technology, such as Microsoft applications, and be able to document and verify requirements. Specific Job Description This position is contingent upon award of contract. The successful candidate plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met. Incumbents must have the ability to see “the big picture” and how one’s role in a project contributes to the greater strategic mission, as well as the capacity to embrace diverse technical disciplines and have excellent customer intimacy skills (i.e. listening, understanding, questioning in a non-threatening manner, differentiating between customer’s wants and needs, and ability to deliver on those needs). This job requires the ability to adapt to quickly changing tasks and requirements and the ability to learn new skills quickly while on the job. Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a rapid paced, team environment as the position will require frequent interactions with person across multiple organizations and level, proven ability to plan, schedule and deliver quality software, and the ability to multi-task and effectively manage concurrent initiatives.
