Job Description
Location: Seattle, WA and various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
Detailed Description: Working under limited direction and within general practices, design and develop new system software features on Unix operating system. Work on developing new storage software features. Perform systems management and integration functions. Develop new software engineering methods or processes, re-evaluate existing processes including Kernel software development, file systems development, distributed systems development. Design and implement new features for OneFS operating system. Develop, enhance, port and maintain Isilon's software as a member of the development team. Produce design, specification and implementation for major feature modules. Ensure code has been tested and verified to be free of defects by providing automated and unit tests. Participate in test plan design. Assist in customer escalations as necessary to resolve problems in the field. Contributing to the development of project goals, schedules and resource planning. Interface with other functional groups in the organization during feature development (QA, Manufacturing, Services, etc.). Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
Job Requirements: Master’s degree in Comp. Sci., Eng.(any), Business, Math, Physics, or related technical field plus 24 months experience in job offered, or computer-related occupation. Experience must include: 1) OneFS operating system, 2) OneFS file system snapshot technology, SnapshotIQ, and 3) OneFS snapshot based WAN/LAN replication solution, SyncIQ. Experience may be gained concurrently. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
