The Network Engineer is the senior position in the technology infrastructure area of the IS Department. This position ensures the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, server and all network services. This is achieved by applying advanced principles and theories in planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) and wireless networks across the organization, as well as providing technical guidance in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all devices, software, and communication links on the network. This individual serves as a team lead in analyzing and resolving all equipment/hardware and software issues timely and accurately, and assuring that network, servers, and data are secured.
University degree in computer science or computer engineering, or any equivalent combination of education and industry-standard certification as well as proven skills and ability.
8-10 years of relevant work experience.
Current Washington/Oregon State driver's license and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage.
Proven experience and success in leading and performing all aspects of project management in the design, implementation and documentation of network equipment.Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, network management and best practices. Strong hands-on technical knowledge of network, server, sub-netting, web filtering and intrusion detection as well as configuring VLAN, WLAN, WAN, DMZ, QOS and the TCP/IP protocol stack.Experience taking a leadership role by facilitating effective team interactions, and teaching/assisting other technical staff that are in a more junior role.Excellent senior-level troubleshooting experience. Extensive support of Cisco-based environments including ASA, Ironport, Nexus, WiSM, and other core Cisco technologies.Knowledge of applicable data security practices and laws. Strong knowledge of TCP-IP and network administration/protocols.Experience with network use monitoring using modeling tools.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Ability to conduct research into issues and products as required.Able to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.This position is located in the Yakima Valley, where you can enjoy spectacular wilderness areas, fine Northwest wines and locally-grown fruits and vegetables.
