Firmware Engineering Internship

Job Description:
This position will expose the intern to a variety of technologies in a
product development environment. These technologies include
electromechanical motor control, image processing, communications
protocols, sensors, RFID, and others. In a team environment, the
applicant would develop, modify, or test embedded software modules
within a larger system.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Customize existing firmware to fulfill special requirements of
individual customers.
- Develop firmware and software features within a large product
development project.
- Test firmware and other software or hardware modules.
- Install and configure software development tools.
- Other tasks assigned as necessary.

- Detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed and organized
individual
- Good written and verbal communications skills
- Proven ability to excel in highly interactive team environment
- Ability to meet or exceed internal and external customer needs
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- ‘C’ Programming Skills, as demonstrated by completion of 1 or more
classes that extensively used the language.
- Completed 2-4 years of an Electrical Engineering, Computer
Engineering or Software Engineering.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Linux experience.
- Working knowledge of microprocessors or microcontrollers.
- Working knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP, HTTP
- Working knowledge of HTML and other web technologies.
