Go to AfterCollege, locate your school, then your department, and sign up. If you don’t see your department or student group, tell your department to contact AfterCollege to be added. It’s free.

Get Recommendations from Professors and Classmates
Once you sign up on AfterCollege, go to your Account home and start asking for recommendations. AfterCollege allows you to ask for, receive, and approve recommendations that will become part of your AfterCollege profile. Make sure you ask for recommendations before you graduate or go away for the summer. If you did well in a class, ask the professor or teaching assistant to comment on your class performance. If you worked on a group assignment with other classmates, ask them to write about how you worked with them as part of the group. The key is to ask for these recommendations while people’s perceptions of you are still fresh on their minds.

Try contacting companies directly and telling them your goals and your plans to relocate. Most companies will help you relocate and pay some accommodations like the first few months rent and moving costs. Especially if you are right out of university!! You are a very desirable candidate.

When I finished university I applied for jobs directly to the HR department and they flew me down for the interview, hired me, then gave me a $15,000 signing bonus to help buy a house there and a 3 month tax free living allowance. They wanted me bad because I was a new business graduate and companies will hire you in a heart beat.
