AfterCollege establishes scholarship funds to support college studies in key areas of healthcare, technology and national security
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – May 11th, 2009 – AfterCollege is pleased to announce that it has added new scholarship funds in 2009 for college students pursuing degrees in allied health, engineering, and critical-need languages. These scholarships are in addition to AfterCollege’s current nursing scholarships. Year to date, AfterCollege has already committed over $50,000 to fund studies and student activities in support of key areas relating to national security, technology and healthcare. Scholarships will be awarded throughout the year and winners will be announced on AfterCollege.
“As a service started by students for students, we are mindful of the challenges often faced when paying for college,” said Mike Fernald, Director of University Relations for AfterCollege. “Our goal is to help college students and recent graduates find the right jobs after graduation, and our scholarships are a way to encourage more students to successfully complete their studies.”
