Roberto Angulo

Founder
CEO

A native of Sonora, Mexico, Roberto founded what is now AfterCollegeâ„¢ as a Junior at Stanford University, where he obtained his B.S. degree in Economics. Roberto has extensive web strategy and deployment experience. His previous projects include Intuit’s Quicken Beta web site, which was the first software beta testing service of its kind. He was also involved in rolling out the first interactive college course web site in the United States for a class at Stanford. Previously, he worked at BBN/GTE Internetworking as a Project Manager, heading Internet hosting architecture design projects. Roberto is the co-author of two patents relating to AfterCollege’s proprietary online recruiting technology. Roberto is fluent in Spanish, English and French, and enjoys traveling, running and developing new product ideas for AfterCollege.

Brian Heifferon

Co-Founder
Vice President of Products

As Vice President of Products, Brian is in charge of driving AfterCollege’s product strategy and product development initiatives, as well as overseeing the marketing communications efforts. Prior to the Products role, Brian was responsible for the implementation and growth of the AfterCollege sales organization, as well as the management of regional and national recruitment advertising agency partnerships.

Brian graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Political Science. While at Stanford, Brian was also the captain of the men’s water polo team and received multiple distinctions as an athletic and academic All-American. When not working on improving AfterCollege’s many products, Brian enjoys surfing, camping and traveling with friends and family.

Michael Dawes

Vice President of Sales and Business Development

Michael joined AfterCollege in March, 2007 as Vice President of Channel Partnerships and became Vice President of Sales and Business Development in January of 2009. Previously, Michael enjoyed a successful career that spanned 13 years at the Houston Chronicle. Most recently, he was the Director of Recruitment Advertising, where he oversaw the newspaper’s recruitment business. During his tenure, the Chronicle saw double-digit growth in online advertising and print advertising revenue. Michael was also responsible for the launch of various online initiatives that contributed to this growth, making the Houston Chronicle one of the top performing newspapers in the country.

Michael obtained his B.A. degree in Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Mike Fernald

Director of University Relations

Mike has more than 15 years of newspaper industry experience. He was most recently in charge of recruitment advertising at the San Francisco Examiner, where he oversaw the print and online financial performance of the recruitment vertical. Prior to joining the Examiner, he served as the Recruitment Advertising Manager at the San Francisco Chronicle. Previously, he worked in both sales and management capacities at the Boston Herald and the Boston Globe. Mike is a graduate of Northeastern University
