Working for St. John's Regional Medical Center
In 1912, community leaders established St. John's Regional Medical Center to meet the needs of the thousands of residents who had settled on the Oxnard plains. The hospital grew from a six-room wooden structure to a 266-bed modern healthcare center supplemented by a 23-bed acute rehabilitation center. With our partner facility, nearby St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital, we employ 1,800 people and count 250 active medical staff.
St. John's is proud to offer specialized centers for treating heart, cancer, and Parkinson's disease patients, as well as an array of other valuable services. As we grow and evolve to meet the changing needs of the community we serve, we remain committed to our mission to enhance wellness, improve lives, and advocate for the disadvantaged.

Our Hometown
The charming seaside community of Oxnard strikes a successful balance between its agricultural heritage and a dynamic modern outlook. This well-kept destination secret enjoys a mild year-round climate and features seaside beauty, a patchwork of crops and orchards along a narrow coastal plain, Victorian homes, and vibrant business and shopping districts.
Oxnard Performing Arts and Convention Center, the Elite Theatre Company, and the Carnegie Art Museum provide outstanding entertainment and cultural opportunities. The brick pathways, manicured gardens, and vintage houses that make up the block-long restored Heritage Square creates an exquisite backdrop for professional offices, a visitor center, weddings and special events, and the Southern Belle Restaurant. Several malls give shoppers plenty to choose from, and Oxnard's agricultural legacy and seaside location create a local cuisine that puts a premium on freshness. Additional metropolitan attractions are available in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, both within an hour's drive.
Year-round outdoor fun starts at Channel Islands Harbor, featuring boutiques, restaurants, sport fishing, whale watching, boating, and kayaking. Bike paths, hiking trails, and city and state parks, a skateboard park, beaches, and nearby mountains provide something for every adventurer. And residents and tourists alike kick off summer each May at the California Strawberry Festival set in Oxnard's picturesque Strawberry Meadows.
